Springfield Armory 1911 Compact

Bought this a few years ago. It had the original square beaver tail on it that would bite ya. Had it replaced with this stainless one. Just wondering if someone could tell me about this gun. It was in its original box for about 20 years...so its not a new model. It also does not have 1911 stamped on it. Anyone????

Looks like a Mil-spec to me, Google Springfield Armory Mil-spec, its a good gun somewhat sought after value maybe 450$-500$

Thats what it said on the old box Mil-Spec 1911A1. It shoots beautifully. Any idea why it does not have 1911 stamped on it?
