5.8 Springfield Armory M1 Garand. This is a CMP Special Service Grade M1. For those of you not familiar, it is practically new, all correct (original) metal (CMP describes it as "Collector Grade") with a new CMP walnut stock and stock metal. The barrel gauges new. In addition, this rifle has been "tuned" by M1 specialist Hook Boutin. It has a trigger job and all of the parts fitted. The gas lock times to 5:30 and the front handguard has the correct amount of front to back clearance. The rifle has been tuned specifically for "as issued" John C. Garand matches.
