Rifle sold
Greetings,
For sale is my Springfield M1A Scout with scope mount, bipod, sling, 3 x 20-rd mags, 1 x 25-rd mag, 1 x 10-rd mag, plus 40-50 rounds of 308 (whatever is left in the mags). I thought I had 4 of the 20-rd mags, but I can't find the 4th. If it turns up, I'll include it.
Price:
$1,700 as listed above
$2,600 as listed, plus optic
The scope is a Burris XTR II 1-8 x 24mm, full description in the photo. It's designed for an AR in 556/223, but pairs nicely with this rifle. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it.
The general view of these rifles is that they are not known for pinpoint and repeatable accuracy, but this one is the exception. My gunsmith did a nice trigger job, but don't expect a 2-lb AR trigger. The target shown is a little steel plate at 300 yards and smaller than my hand. I quit after 2 consecutive hits because I was too excited. It shoots incredibly well.
Ammo, it seems to like the 168 grain the most and that's more or less what's loaded in the magazines. I stuffed all the good ammo in the mags when the pandemic kicked off and things got crazy. Anyways, it shoots well enough with 150 gr 7.62 x 51.
I have 290 rounds of 7.62 x 51 mm M80 ball ammo that I'll sell for $375, but not until after the rifle sells.
Recap:
$1,700 as listed
$2,600 as listed, plus optic
$375 for 290 rounds of 7.62 x 51 mm M80 ball ammo
Cash face to face, preferably in the Lafayette area, but I get around. No trades.
