Ok OK call me a fool but I sold my 1911 and purchased the XDM 5.25. It did NOT turn me into a dead eye shooter but I can honestly now say that the gun is no longer the excuse as it is all ME. Put in rest and it will stack rounds on top of each other. In my hands, uhhhhh, another story.

Did you stack rounds on top of one another from a rest at 25 yards?

Well I tried to ransom rest test my 9mm 5.25 yesterday and couldn't produce a good group, I then benched it and still didn't shoot a good group. Next Friday I will do a thorough accuracy test and if this think doesn't shoot better, I'll be pissed. My reloads did shoot much better than WWB, but I'm looking for at least 1.5" at 25yds like the rest of my guns.

Ouch Papa, why dont you kick me in the stomach, LOL

hey, I'm right there with you. paid $719 for mine last weekend (no tax) which comes to almost the same amount as $659 w/tax.

it was Waggenspack here in Gonzales. I thought it was strange because his regular XDm's were the same price but I verified it by looking at the tags on more than one of each.

Yes, I figured a paid a pretty good little premium. I guess it was worth it as I got to take it and shoot it for free right then and there, LOL. Like I said I know have ruined by excuse of the gun not being up to snuff. As an aside, I am about to change backstraps. I know you knock pin out from slide stop side to ejection port. However, do you put back in from ejection port to slide to side. Anyone have a clue or does it matter.

You will probably have to play around with working up a load for it to get the performance you're looking for.

I didn't realize how inaccurate factory stuff was until I started developing a load specifically for my gun. At least in my case, 1.5" at 25 yards was a pipe dream with WWB.

Got my backstrap changed with 3/32 Allen wrench biz there any other way besides taking a hammer and pounding it out. Feels weird taking a hammer to new xdm 5.25. Damn I was worried I would rattle my sights loose

no, that's pretty much it unless you want to invest in a few pieces of different size brass rods to use for punching pins. the Allen wrenches are a lot harder than the roll pins and they will eventually booger the ends up, if not on the first time you push them out. I always try to remember to reinstall roll pins in the same direction they were pushed out. of course, a small assortment of roll pins is relatively cheap so you won't have to re-use them if they are damaged.

That's about what I would expect. Factory around 3-3.5", pretty standard. And the velocities seem about right.

If you are using Clays and expecting accuracy, plan to pull your hair out. Widely known as a soft load with no accuracy. The high ES and SD is a big factor. The low velocity (which you are obviously upping slowly in development) is also another factor. I'm not sure if it's the same with that powder but as my load with N320 got faster, the ES and SD fell and accuracy surpassed my abilities.

I will bet you $500 you will never get close to your desired 1.5" (consistently) goal at 25 yards with that powder. TG or N320 may get it done. And I would start with the longest OAL your mags and chamber will accept.
