very happy to hear LSP Col Edmonson giving God the glory! while it may be very obvious to some, others may need to be reminded of this at times like this.

Glad the trooper is o.k. Like a LSP friend of mine said, and you hear this alot, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. Some go better than others but no two are ever the same. Cudos to the two deputies getting there in time to protect the trooper.

Just heard the report that one of the deputies only had time to shoot through the windshield of his unit. YIKES:eek3:

Thank God indeed. That was some very fast thinking; Sheriff Cazes has some damn good men over there.

Don't you know a lot will be learned from this.....

If only they'd go back to two officers per car. I think many In The Line of Duty deaths could be prevented.

Uh... Yeah right... That was the most stupid thing I've ever heard! You ride your a** around shot gun in a tight a** police unit for 10 hrs... Stay in your lane high speed!

Sounds like the deputies were doubled up....

One of the deputys was a reserve deputy. I dont think they can be in the vehicles without a full time guy. And as the comment about doubling up, I dont see how that is possible with state police because of how few guys there are on the road already. Cut that number of cars in half by adding two people to each, and there will be chaos.

Thank god that Tpr is ok....... from the looks of the wound, it was only by the grace of god that he is still here with us today.

I'm a f@&king cop moron... Hardly sheltered.... Two patrolman in one unit 10 hrs a day. Obviously making the comment that is a good idea shows you've never been a policeman. That's like sticking you, you wife, and 4 kids in a Toyota Echo on a trip to Disney World! Do that 4 days a week and see how it feels... A two hundred pound man with 25lbs of kit doesn't belong side another 200lb man with a computer in his lap. The public complains all the the time that there isn't enough of us as it is... Half the units in the street... Ha I'd like to see that...
