But remove eight zeros and look at them as
a family budget.

The whole cell phone thing tics me off........if you are broke as a church mouse then why in the heck do you need a cell phone? None of you hommies want to talk to you, you're broke for goodness sake. Why not just a necklace with a "Call 911 I've fallen and can't find the remote" button.
My view on personal responsibility and work ethic is counter culture to DC.

Our problem in a nut shell is spending NOT collecting.
We are coddling those that are poor by choice in my opinion. Just two generations ago is was widely accepted that we wanted to leave our children better off then ourselves. Now many are teaching children to rise to no expectation. Making excuses from everything to Attention spans to crack addiction.
there is no clear seperation between those that truly need help and those that accept that the government's help is all they need.
I am blessed, and one of the people that pays out the highest bracket, but damn man, 35% federal, 4.5% state, sales in parish at aroung 9% and medicare and social secruity that I may never see, enough is enough.
I had (opperative word had) a kid work for me that was bright, capable and healty. When asked to take own more responsibility to get more money he looked me straight in the face and said and I qoute "no, that will cost me my WIC for my wife" and now he wonders why he has a dead in job with no benefits.
Then on top of that, I pay like 500 a month for family coverage on health insurance and total out of pocket per family is 4500. So on a sick year last year I forked out 10,500 in medical while kids of people I worked with had babies out of wedlock, with no insurance, at the same hospital my wife had our children for basically NOTHING. Walked out with free diapers from WIC to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is our real life problem. PERIOD, catering to the slowest kid on the team does not make you a better team, it make you loose.
Why are a couple of you guys so downright jealous of the rich? Do you think their having money makes them evil? You're sounding very liberal/socialist with the class envy schtick.
