I'm not sure about y'all area, but the Men's Warehouse in Lafayette SUCKS! I've purchased several pants from them for work and they completely botched them. All of the legs stopped way above my shoes. Looking around at the associates in the store, all of their pants were like that. You could see half of their socks while they were standing! Maybe that's the style now, but it looks like crap. Not to mention that even after spending $150-$200 on a pair of pants, they still charged me $20 per hem.

Edit: I've bought a few things from Partners and they are amazing. But wabbits right. They are expensive.

Never figured there to be that many suit wearers on here!
I think I may have a pair of slacks that fit and a couple of dress shirts. I don't think I have worn a suit since buying my own clothes.

A well tailored suit on a guy is one of the most attractive things ever IMO.

Perlis and Jos A Banks are the two I know with great reputations.

I'll tell you that a guy that I 'mentored' at the office a few years came to me and said that he wanted a promotion and was always overlooked. I told him he was "just average" numbers wise, competing with 10 others for the same promotion. When he asked what to do I told him to pick up 2 suits, 3 shirts and 5 ties - mix and match and wear daily.

His clients took him more serious, his profit margins were higher because he was negotiating more confidently, his employees treated him better, and he'd occasionally run a few minutes late for work because the wife would lure him back to bed.

If you need an immediate boost to your confidence or need a 'secret weapon' for your professional (or love life)- get a suit.

Results typical and are guaranteed, ask any female with taste or anyone with business expertise.

edit: even a tailored casual blazer will dress up your polo shirt and jeans incredibly well, and it HIDES YOUR CCW.

The last tailor made suits I had were fitted and sewn in Hong Kong, but I don't think you'd want to take the time and travel to get there, and it doesn't quite meet the "good tailor in south La " criteria. (Actually I was on leave from the Army and that was 45 years ago)

A good suit is a must these days!

Can I put in an opinion from a chick's point of view?

Unless for some reason you are built in an odd way (really big gut perhaps) PLEASE for the love of all that anyone holds holy...stay AWAY from the pleated front pants. I have never seen them look good on anyone....no matter the tailor or the clothes...even with Hollywood's help.

I have thought of getting fitted for one just to surprise the wife. Buuuuut, I rarely go anywhere requiring a suit and if a suit is required, it usually isn't my kind if place.
Now, a new hat, belt and boots would really turn the wife on but that is another story.

I would argue for more than five ties. The same five ties get boring very quickly. I have damn near 40 and still think I could use more.

Nothing wrong with a pleated pant suit. This is a ridiculous statement. Some of us aren't teenagers.

yeah, but shirts in 3 different colors paired with 5 ties 15 possible different looks, so a great start for someone that isn't used to dressing like that.

but I agree, I've got too many ties- and watches. My name is wabbit, and I'm addicted to watches.

WATCHES? Now you have my attention. I have over 30 and I moderate the sales corner on Watchuseek. Which you probably know is the largest watch forum in the world.

FML. I have a watch problem as well...you shouldn't have mentioned that as I might have to come over. :(

    Currently on: Breitling Avenger M1

I saw an ad for that in Men's Health. If I bought one I would be your username :P

Currently wearing a victorinox swiss army watch. It has survived quite a beating as of yet :)

but I've also got about 5 watchboxes full of random seikos, citizens, bulovas, and another G-shock that I call a 'backup', but I really just bought because i couldnt decide which color I wanted so I got both :x

as it pertains to thread- the right watch is icing on the cake fellas, im tellin ya.

Ya'll want a little watch porn to see what I've got? I have em all in photobucket. It's gonna be sickening knowing how much gun money this could be.
