The logical part of me says the shark likely panicked when it found itself trapped in the cage, and had little interest of feeding and was focused on escape, and the guy was really fairly safe and unlikely to be eaten.

The animal part of me says AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

You know, after viewing it like 4 times, I'm not so sure if it wasn't some sort of setup. They are so casual about whether there is a anyone in the cage. Then he comes over and pulls up the rope.
