Available in blued or matte stainless finish with a 6.5 inch barrel, the Raging Judge in 28 gauge has overall length 13.75 inches and weighs 67 ounces. Like all Taurus handguns, the unique onboard Taurus Security System® allows users to securely lock the gun using an inconspicuous key-lock.”

UPDATE: After inspecting the firearm at the 2011 SHOT Show, the ATF determined that the Taurus Raging Judge is in fact an NFA regulated firearm. Whether it would be classified as a Destructive Device (DD) or Short Barreled Shotgun (SBS) is not known at this time, but Taurus has withdrawn the firearm and currently has no plans to move the 28 gauge Raging Judge into full production.

28 gauge would be useless for self defense anyways, they don't make buckshot or slug loads for it. It would an oversized snake pistol. The regular Judge is an oversized defense/snake pistol.

I thought it was rifled to be technically a .44 pistol. They market it as a pistol that shoots shotgun shells, not a pistol with a long cylinder. Yet it is illegal to take a crack barrel .410 and cut the stock and barrel down to pistol size.
With this, I dont understand how it would be any different to sell a 28ga version. Is it because the bore is larger than .50?

But you know, once this hits the shops, Federal, Winchester, and the likes will all come out with there version of 28 gauge self defense ammo. Probably will put out slugs within a matter of months. Making an otherwise pointless gun useful.
