    The title of this thread may seem a bit more highbrow than the usual discussion here, but I know that there are a few who really enjoy a good philosophical read. The above article by Edward Feser, considered one of the best contemporary writers on philosophy, proposes that the extremes of our modern political arguments today (e.g. Critical Race Theory, BLM, 3 Percenters, Q-Anon, etc.) share a common structure in the ancient theological heresy of Gnosticism.

    It's a LONG read, but fascinating. It is an analysis piece and does not propose any means for using the analysis, but if we are to overcome extremism, understanding it is a good start.
