"A loaded 12-gauge shotgun was found in the glove compartment of the Honda Civic Lanza drove to the school with two magazines containing 70 rounds of Winchester 12-gauge shotgun rounds."

Where does it say the shotgun was in the glovebox? I just read the return on the search warrant and it said Saiga shotgun with two magazines containing 70 rounds of Winchester 12 gauge shotgun rounds.

In the news report or in the official paperwork?

The news report is wrong. According to the search warrant application, the shotgun was in plain view within the vehicle.

I have no doubt that is was wrong unless, like the OP said, the Civic Glovebox was HUGE! I think he was just referring to the crappy reporting that was being done.

It also said he had 3 30-round mags for the Bushmaster and there were over 150 .223 cases on the ground. I guess he had time to reload mags. So much for someone being able to stop him during a mag change or reloading. So, how would smaller mags make us safer?

From another article by the AP:

"Sedensky said Lanza killed all 26 victims inside Sandy Hook Elementary School with a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle before taking his own life with a Glock 10mm handgun. He says Lanza had another loaded handgun with him inside the school as well as three, 30-round magazines for the Bushmaster.

Sedensky said 154 spent .223 casings were recovered at the scene. A loaded 12-gauge shotgun was found in the Honda Civic Lanza drove to the school with two magazines containing 70 rounds of Winchester 12-gauge shotgun rounds."

At least the piece of **** killed himself with a handgun guaranteed to evacuate the contents of your skull in one round or the next ones free.
