We've been "socialist" for a while. FDR endured the same insults Obama has when he proposed the New Deal. If you want to learn something about socialism, try keeping up with the great things Comrade Chavez is doing in Venezuela. Seriously, when are the American people going to learn that socialism is not a bad thing. It is actually a good thing ! Capitalism only cares about the flow of money. Not the quality of life for humans or anything like that. Capitalism only cares about humans as far as how much they can work and spend to produce more capital for the system. Socialism is all about the people. Attempting to make sure all the people in society have the basic needs and live a healthy life. Now, we as people, that live in a society should want the system that cares about 'people' not 'money'. America and many in the rest of the world need to seriously wake up.

Socialism is meant to correct the imbalances that arise in a capitalist system. The wealth naturally accumulates in the elite to the point where the working man becomes a slave, and therein lies its ultimate demise as it breaks down to the point where an economy cannot survive with vast numbers of people that do not have money to spend. If this does not sound to you like where we are now, you are entirely deluded.

You bemoan the vast numbers of people that have died for the ideals of socialism, but have you ever pondered how many people have died at the hands of the capitalists?
