The Ruger CEO had an open comment on FaceBook that is running, I wrote about a 10mm carbine either like the 44 deerstalker or the Mini 14 Ranch carbine.

I also mentioned to him about making a 10mm semi auto pistol but not a 1911 but something like the P345.

But to place icing on this cake, I said that it would be great if Ruger stepped up and actually made the Bren Ten pistol, producing it with quality CNC machining and the best the metallurgy to prove Thomas Dornaus, Michael Dixon and Jeff Cooper were right about these fine pistols in this caliber, and my favorite the 10mm!

Tell the CEO inquiry and write them for what you want to see from Ruger... :) https://www.ruger.com/dataProcess/tellTheCEO.html

A Bren10 recreation made properly would be nice. The 10mm was flying off the shelf then.. Not sure if it was because 10mm was new.. But it would be interesting to find out.

There is a company that converts the ruger .357 to 10mm

They rename the cylinder to accept 40sw/10mm, cut for moon clips & bore the barrel. I've converted a para p16-40 to 10mm, by hand reaming the chamber. It works flawlessly.
The Mauser m2 40, amt 40, are also easy converts.
I'm hoping to run across a mp5 clone in 40sw

    ? Who says 10mm isn't popular?

I wouldn't believe anything they said after such a statement.

As many have said, many that spout such things have never actually owned or shot a 10mm.

Some that have simply dislike the recoil. It's more of a snap than a roll and different than the 45.

Ballistics show it to be "the Chuck Norris" of handgun ammo.

I love my Glock 20s. I'd like a 1911 in 10mm, and I'm collecting the coins to have one built.

G20 easily converted to 40S&W with only barrel swap.

    Try it, you'll like it.

as a 10mm fan(who has cast and helped develop custom moulds for cast bullets) the biggest issue is recoili.

not many autoloaders can handle the beating a full house 10mm produce.

I think a more reasonable comparison would be .357 Sig vs 10mm. There's plenty of data floating around the net on both, so I won't regurgitate that. Consider, however, that the .357 Sig is much newer, and probably at least as popular as 10mm is now. Secret Service, Air Marshals, Texas DPS, and other agencies selected .357 Sig as their duty round. The Secret Service could have chosen anything they wanted. (They also issue the Five-seveN). I think it comes down to the recoil, capacity, and ability of existing proven handgun designs to accept the cartridge. There are just less advantages with the 10mm. I cannot dispute its ballistic performance. That is clearly superior, but how much energy & temporary/permanent wound cavity do you need to kill humans? Not that much. When you need more, use long guns. Rounds on target are better than really powerful misses, and lower recoil statistically helps with that.

Bottom line: If you hit the target and eliminate it, then it really doesn't matter what you used. If you prefer 10mm, go for it!

I know it's not a pistol, but I'd love something like a Marlin Camp Carbine in 10mm, as a buddy gun for my Glock20.

What? No mention of the S&W 610? I have the 6.5" 610-2 and it just be the most accurate of all my pistols and revolvers. Truth be told, I only shoot 40S&W out of it.

They're out there and you may find one but mine is going nowhere! Only wish that the cylinder was fluted. That little bit of extra weight can and will hurt accuracy when shooting double action

The 610's are heavy revolver and the longer barreled is great for hunting. I have the S&WMod 29 8 3/8" 44mag red ramp front and white outlined sights rear with the target grips, hammer and trigger, it is a great shooter. I actually took a deer at 180 yards with it, through the heart shot in 1979. Recoil is manageable if you practice shooting and proficiency train with your guns, different situations, require different equipment, ammo and tactics.

However the G-20 with that 15+1 capacity brings it's weight up with that capacity. When you have that much mass, the recoil is dampened, even more so with stainless steel recoil rod and heavier spring setup. I run the Wolff Gun Springs non captive rods in mine with a 22lb spring, cycles everything.

Lonewolf Dist. is even selling 9" 10mm barrels, and conversion barrel swaps, you can run 40S&W, 357Sig and 9x25Dillon loadings. The 9x25 Dillon can yield 95 grain JHP's at 2100 fps, 115 grain at 1800+ fps and 125 grain at 1750 to 1800 fps from a 6" tube. BTW, these all provide trigger time and sight acquisition from the same gun! :)

While they offer a 9mm conversion for the G-20, I don't trust its reliability, feeding the 9's from the 10mm mags, and the extractor trying to grab the smaller diameter cartridge. Many say it works just fine...

Shadow I have 9x25 barrels in a g20 & g29. It's a great shooting round. It tends to recoil straight back, vs typical up or down. The 10 platform is just great.
One can throw the recoil argument out of the window. Lower power rounds can still produce 400ft lbs of enery, with a power factor greater than 45, with recoil in the 40SW range.

The 10 mm shares the same fate as the 41 magnum. Both are unloved and treated as red headed step children by the gun industry. Those of us who own them know better. And if you handload you can reap the full benefit 0f their abilities.
We are a special, albeit small group, of knowledgeable shooters. Don't tell the others of our secrete club.
My avatar is a model 58 S&W, 41 magnum, it's my favorite . The only thing I would like to have is a lever action carbine in 41 magnum or a semi-auto carbine in 10 mm.

I like 10mm. I've gotten to shoot it a few times from a friend's The only reason I haven't really picked one up or seriously tried to shoot has been ammo costs. I generally only try to get get calibers that I can readily find at the local big box stores and I haven't had much luck seeing them there. I'm not really much into handloading right now so ready availability of ammo is kind of a concern. I'm all about doing internet orders and bulk buy from like freedom munitions when I get the chance, but I can get 2000 of 9mm for the cost of 1000 10mm, plus I already have a 9mm.

I'm ultimately planning on getting a Dillon setup but I'm moving around too much to seriously look at doing a dedicated reloading bench or anything right now so I'm sticking to 9mm. My money is better spent on ammo and range time right now anyway.

I've always wondered why did .40 take off instead of 10mm?

I just ordered a 51/2 inch barrel for my glock 20. I have had it only for a short time. When I ordered the barrel I asked what they thought about using a buffer for it since I will be using max loads from underwood and buffalo bore in the 180 200 grain . I do have a 22lb. guide rod spring and ss rod and he said not to use the buffer. Any body here use one and if not why??
