Residents face a $100 fine if they fail to recycle. The new recycling bins will have RF chips in them so that the city can monitor if they fail to take the bin to the street for a couple weeks. :eek3:

The chips will allow city workers to monitor how often residents roll carts to the curb for collection. If a chip show a recyclable cart hasn't been brought to the curb in weeks, a trash supervisor will sort through the trash for recyclables.

Trash carts containing more than 10 percent recyclable material could lead to a $100 fine, according to Waste Collection Commissioner Ronnie Owens

Pay the fine in plastic bottles and aluminum cans???? :noes:

Even better. Cut the RF tracker off the recycling bin, attach to your trash bin. Totalitarian bull---- problem solved.

$2.5 million to put out 25,000 new high-tech carts.

Great, so instead of a $3.00 bin you get a $100 bin.

Throw away all those old bins too.

They're really saving the planet here.

The liberals have taken "conserve" out of "conservation."

It would take our neighborhood kids about 30 minutes one night to eff that whole plan up.

I remember when recycling was first being pushed in large communities. It was to be FREE MONEY for the community, more than paying for itsef. Instead it's incredibly expensive, but at least it provides countless numbers of well paid, unionized, democrat-voting, official government trash-sorters.
