They do this in Japan. I'm not sure of the mileage number, but once your car reaches 60K or there about, you are required to replace the motor. That is why so many low mileage motors are available (crates) to american market. Since we embrace the global market place along with their politics, you can expect worse regulations here as we have to lead.....
