    I'd never heard of this before. Interesting bit of history. Normally I'd paste some exerpts to give a gist of it, but it's a rather large event/issue from a snapshot in history that I think it'd be an injustice to try and compartmentalize the event. Most of the events related to this were all in 'this week' in history, the original riot and resistance, subsequent legal events, and recent marriage acts.

    Personally I wasn't aware McCarthyism targeted so many demographics - I guess in history, we mainly focused on "enemies of the state" more politically; anarchists, communists, etc.
