Their next item after the mag couplers will no doubt be a HUD (Heads Up Display) that mounts in the line of sight and displays the round count. This will allow the shooter to avoid taking his eyes off target to glance at the counter in the rear of the magazine.

And if you can't tell a mag is full when you go to pull it out the pouch by how heavy it feels?... well, maybe I am just too old school.
