Hi! My name is Chiye. I live in Baton Rouge, but am originally from Japan. I teach Pre-K in Gonzales.
When I say "totally" new, I really mean it! I have gone to precision three times, and all together, I only have about 200 rounds under my belt.
The first time I every shot a handgun, I think it was a .22 and a .45 - just rentals. I didn't even know the correct way to hold a gun!!
Now, after much thought and research, I am a proud owner of my first gun, a Smith & Wesson M&P Pro (9mm).
AND I have an awesome trainer and I can now correctly hold a gun. LOL :D

Hope to bump into some of you guys some day at the range! :)

It's suprising how many teachers participate in shooting sports.

    Welcome to Bayou Shooter.

You should come down to Thibodaux for one of our matches.

There are many lady shooters that attend.

You sure that 9mm has enough stopping power for Pre-K? I heard it gets pretty rough sometime dealing with all those immature people, then you have their kids to worry about also.

Just kidding, welcome and enjoy. Once you get comfortable with holding, shooting & reloading you need to get out of the indoor shooting range and get outside for shooting enjoyment.

Have you been to a public school in the last 20 years? I'm suprised more teachers aren't in the news for defense shootings.

Welcome to Bayou Shooters and congrats on seeing the light. The smell of burnt gunpowder and the tinkle of brass on concrete are addictive, ya know!

That is interesting to know! Maybe there's a teacher's league out there I can join...LOL.
I heard about the range in Thibodaux. I'll have to come and watch the matches sometime! (Heavy emphasis on "watch" as opposed to "participate". Hahaha!) Baby steps, baby steps..... :)
