A passive deterrent seems best. Place the tar on top of the fence and plant some bushes at the base. If this dosn't work then I recommend land mines.

Came home early, perp show. I hid out in my shop, he'll pass tomorrow when I'm not on stake out. Oh cops didn't call or show up. What's the point of calling them? Lady at LPSO said to stop them(perp) I'd have to send them some kind of letter. WTF I told her you can't do that until you catch them? Good luck Madwabbit, my problem is small compared to yours. Looks like I'll do the game cam and bushes defence!

Tack strip for carpet along the inside top edge of your wood fence. Don't forget the camera so you can capture the expression on his face when he discovers your method of discouraging pigeons.

Hey guys it's been a couple of weeks. I added two foot extensions to the fence poles. I then ran three strands of barb-wire about 8" apart up and down the fence line. So the fence is now 6' tall instead of 4' tall. The top 2' of barb-wire seems to have done it. No signs of a breach in the "da fence". I guess problem solved for now or until they bring wire cutters! Time will tell.

are you required to put any type of sign up saying "caution" due to the barbwire?

I would consider taking down the barbed wire after a few weeks and they have written off using your house as a shortcut.

Since your front yard is fenced I assume you have a sidewalk and it could be trouble if a jogger or even someones pet brushes into your fence.

That would be one tall pet since the barbed wire is between 4' and 6' high.

This is on the side of my house. We live in a cul-de-sac, with an alley next to the house. Kind of hard to describe, but they were using the fence as a short cut from the alley. I'll leave the wire up. The rest of the immediate neighbors like it!

You don't have any neighbors with a pet Giraffe?

    I read that:
I then ran three strands of barb-wire about 8" apart up and down the fence line.
