I have an Old Town Guide 147...What pound thrust trolling motor would be be good?
I plan to use this to get back and forth to the duck blind, and fishing with the wife.
I'm looking at a Minn Kota 30" shaft, 30 lb. thrust, not sure if it's enough.
    Thanks!

I had a boat similar to that and used a 32 lb which worked ok. It depends on how much weight you have on the trip to the blind. I would probably get at least a 40 lb thrust. Never hurts to have a little extra get up and go.

Used a 30# thrust Minn Kota on a very wide 15 foot kayak and it was almost too much. Even in low it would move the yak pretty fast. I'd be astonished if you need anything more than a 30.
