I could see this being appropriate for a parent that is not a 'gun person' and believes their kid may be involved with guns, gangs, drugs, etc. Better than mom putting away some socks and accidentally hitting a trigger.

I have a few that beat this on the scale of stupidity.
"If you like you doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor!"
"This will actually reduce health premiums!"
"This law will not raise taxes!"
"What difference does all of this make now?"

Guess they had more backlash than they expected. They have withdrawn their "generous offer".

Police encourage you to call 911 if an individuals finds an unwanted firearm at any location.
Or better yet, Call me if you find an unwanted firearm....
