Semi Auto is Legal, as far as Mag capacity, you may have to check local laws. I have always thought it was 5 round mags the limit for Big Game hunting in rifles, 3 rounds for small game and ducks in shot guns.
.22 rim fire with tube (SMALL GAME) no limit that I am aware of......

"It is illegal to hunt or shoot deer with firearms smaller than .22 caliber center-fire or a shotgun loaded with anything other than buckshot or rifled slug. Handguns may be used for hunting.

Semi auto is fine for hunting.

No limit on magazine capacity on rifles that I am aware of. Limit of 3 on shotguns.

Hunting with an AR is fine. .223 or 5.56 would be a centerfire .22 caliber and legal as per Kajuntriton's post above.

I cant find any limit on magazine capacity either. I have a 450 bushmaster that I wanted to deer hunt with and I only 20 rds mags. It seems ok from my reading of the regs.

I talked to my buddy in LDWF and he said semi-auto is no limit for rifle. Shotgun limit is three as stated above. The worst you might get is dirty looks from muzzle loaders if you carry a 20 rd magazine but that don't scare me any.

    Subject: [General] Question on AR10

Alex Torres sent a message using the contact form at http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/contact.

I'm planning on going hunting in the Pearl River WMA with an AR10 .308. My question is how many round magazine can I have? I've heard no more than 5 rounds and I've heard that it doesn't matter.
