I'll finish this one up tonight, but thought it looked so good I'd sneak a preview in.

    Nighthawk short action repeater
Krieger SS Rem. varmint contour 1:10 26" barrel
AICS 1.5 stock milled for .300" pinned recoil lug
    Bi-pod adapter
    Chambered in .308 win. match

How much does one of those go for when it's for sale?

For all the parts and smith work you're looking around $2500-$2800-ish on an AICS platform like that depending on a few other parts. I do have a couple of Nighthawk Custom actions for sale in L/A and Magnums, but for this particular build I only supplied the barrel and machine work.

Please excuse my ignorance. So this rifle is bascially, particularly for competition?

Not really. It's for precision shooting whether that may be competition, varmint hunting, tactical purposes, or just someone who likes a heavy field gun that is built with components that withstand most environmental factors (aluminum, plastic, and stainless steel).

That's what I was afraid of. I don't want to be hauling that all day!

I don't think the owner intends to use it as a concealed carry weapon. :dogkeke:

The finishing touches were done last night. Everything torqued down, oiled, and shined up ready for delivery and range time. If this thing shoots half as good as it looks in person it could compete in benchrest!! lol

16.5# is by design. That is total weight including scope, bipod, mag, ect.....Cut off on weight is 18.18# for a F T/R rifle with all accessories included. Just the bipod going on this rifle weighs in at 2#. Ted could build you a rifle as light as you would want that drives tacs, I just would not want to be behind it for a match shooting 66-68 rounds.

That is gorgeous. You, sir, are a true master of your craft.

And don't worry, Headspace, you are not the only one that got wood from that plastic and steel. That is one sexy rifle :boink:
