This is my small set up in the backyard, it is a little different looking plant wise since I had to replace a bunch of stuff after the easter freeze.

I set up PVC pipe to run water to everything easier, I've been using a soaker hose on the garden bed though because the water system on it isnt putting an equal flow on the bed. I will try to get some updated pictures of the garden now.

Yeah I could use the exercise too sadly, But I am about to start working 12hour shifts soon so I needed something I could use to help me keep up the garden when im not home. I plan on attaching a timer on the water so that I can keep the beds watered when the summer heat comes in.

One of my co-workers used to farm for a living and told me about a homemade fertilizer rig he built back in the day that was used for side dressing crops on a small scale.
It is built from 3 inch sewer and drain pipe (I made mine 3 feet long) and a cap. Drill a hole in it and put the cap on one end of the pipe. You don't even have to glue it on. Drill two holes in the side of the pipe near the top for a dowel to slide through. The dowel is your handle. It will end up looking like a pogo stick of sorts. I made two. The way the old man told me was the speed you walk determines how much fertilizer you put out. Just fill it with fertilizer and walk each side of your crop.

My parents have the same guard and just like yours, he is missing his pole.

That little girl can shoot, too - BB Gun, 10/22, AR-15, .410, even G19... not bad for 4 years old. She knows her four safety rules and must recite them before we ever head out to shoot. Gotta teach em young!

The corn is one of five rows (see previous post) in a plant, skip method. However, now I'm am seriously considering disking the in between rows because the last two frosts did quite a bit of damage to my other 4 rows. I'm considering it enough that I've actually hooked it to the tractor... but it's so damn hot outside!
