They plan to no longer manufacture firearms but hope to grow their business with the other products. AND grow their ammunition sales. How hypocritical! I for one plan to boycott ALL of their products. It's going to hurt. Especially the ammo.
I am curious how the rest of you feel about this. Am I alone or will some of you join me
in boycotting and destroying this evil empire?

Seems like to me that the company is trying to shed what is not profitable.
Should be no secret that gun sales have been in a slump for a while.

They are shutting down specific firearms operations that are losing money, and using other funding to focus on ammunition production.

Not everything has to do with politics...

I don't think anyone ever said Savage or Stevens or any of the ammo brands are losing money. Maybe they are, I don't know. For public corporations, it is not enough to be profitable. You must be able to GROW earnings, or your stock will be dumped by mutual funds and other stakeholders. It could be taken private or be bought and owned by the employees, like STI guns is, over in Georgetown Texas. They make some fine shooting pistols.

If you delve into the stock market you would see the company is in BIG trouble. Overall it has dropped from $50+ dollars a share to currently $16 a share in the past two years. Not good. Most companies can't recover from this and are sent to bankruptcy court or are bought out by another company. Unfortunatly most of their competition is in the same boat.
