I had a complete stock set for a VZ33, that I bought at a gunshow in Wichita Falls Texas about 15 years ago, so I decided to try and do something with it.

I didn't have a VZ33 action but I did have a Bubba'd Kar98a small ring and a 2 hole trigger guard from, who knows what. I found a .308 barrel on Gunbroker that appears to be made from maybe 1909 7.65 barrel , an FN 1950 .30-06 barrel or, something (breach end shortened, threads extended and rechambered to .308).

After turning the barrel down to the dimensions to fit the stock I assembled all of the pieces and checked the headspace. I added an FN Carbine rear sight and a Nazi front sight with hood.

The gun shoots great and is very accurate (kicks like a mule). It does hit high but I will correct this with a higher front sight blade.

I was not trying to build a fraud (no real collector would ever be fooled) just make a place holder in my meager collection until the day get a complete VZ33 or G33/40.;);)

Here is a pic. I parkerized it gray but, I think I will re-do it in Black Maganese.
