I will give you the benfit of doubt..........

However, as a man that has gone through a brutal divorce, where many many things were said by my ex and her family that where just untrue.......

I will give you ex the benefit of doubt as well.......

It's the "three sides of a story" thing.

My heart goes out to you, and I hope things have settled down for you. In my case, my own family believed the things said by my ex, all the way until they started questioning my sons. It's very, very hard on the heart and the mind to not be believed.

I will give you ex the benefit of doubt as well.......

It's the "three sides of a story" thing.

    This shows you are fair-minded.

This place came up on a search when I was looking to see if what happened was illegal. I wasn't thinking about the communal nature of a forum when I asked my question; I was just looking for an answer. I'd tried looking through yahoo answers, but couldn't come up with anything that fit my situation, so when I found this place, I thought someone might know.

    You as well.

I'm still in my long-process. I've discovered that pushing things into the far corner of one's mind in order to continue to deal with everyday life is not the ideal situation. Those pushed-back things eventually demand to be dealt with.

    Are you freaking serious?

Unfortunately, yes, for the very reason that I just found in your personal quote at the bottom of your messages: *You pick up a gun to shoot to kill. Or you don’t pick up a gun.*

The enormity of this quote makes me sick and scared to my very core.

I was a minister's wife for 25 years. In those circles, you don't say anything about your husband. When I finally left, I couldn't blame the people for being angry that I had left a beloved minister who just happened to have a grave secret issue with rage in our home. I no longer go to church at all; neither does my youngest. I left a lifetime of friendships and a social world that I no longer have access to.

I am sorry that all that has happened. I would encourage you to try and find a body of believers to get yourself plugged in with though. Some larger churches have ministries for divorced individuals also.

My dad was in ministry for 30 years when my parents got a divorce for a lot of reasons and now i am the only one of my siblings involved in church. My mom was able to get herself involved in another church but it has taken time for healing.
