What are the ordinances on shooting a firearm in the city of Baton Rouge?

Where can I find the laws/ordinances surrounding shooting a firearm within city limits? I am in the city of Baton Rouge but there is forest all around, I know that people hunt/shoot very near my house as I can hear the gunshots when I'm working in my garden. But, when the guy came and wrestled the alligator in the lake in my backyard, I asked why he didn't just shoot it, and he said it was against the law. Is there a certain number of acres that make it ok? And are there laws regarding building a range? Would I need to apply for a permit? Just curious. Thanks!

Always go advanced search and make an effort. Sometimes they just don't pop up b/c the Title's aren't properly related to the topic at hand. However your topic title is.

if you search for 'ordinances Baton Rouge' now your topic shows up

I own 55 acres out in country in EBR and I can't shoot a rifle or pistol on my land legally because of the half mile deal.
