Thinking about getting my CC pretty soon with BR getting worse by the day. Have yet to take a certified class so I'm a little ways out.

I'm 6'0" 170 lbs and the only handgun I've owned is a G33. With my size I'd find it tough and very uncomfortable to conceal a gun this size. I checked out some guns at Cabela's today and the LC9 looked like something more managable, the LCP would obviously be very easy but I think I want a 9mm or .40.

So what do you CC? Are you a smaller guy?

    I'm your size, 6', 170lbs, and I carry a PF9. I tried a semi-compact Baby Eagle and that did not work. If you want a 9, go with the LC9 or PF9.

I'm about 5'9", 2XX pounds... I rotate a Bersa Thunder Plus, Bersa .45, and Bersa BP9 for concealed carry.

Obviously, the biggest one is the .45, but its still VERY comfortable to carry.

I'm 6' 200lbs and carry a G23 IWB most of the time and a G27 IWB with shorts and t and have no problems, very comfortable with either. Previously carried an M&P 40c and that is just as comfy.

I'm carrying an XD40 service model right now. It's not hard to hide, but it's slightly more difficult in a t-shirt. I'll be getting a subcompact soon.

6'2", 190 lbs. carry a pf9 using the belt clip iwb right now. Seriously thinking about getting a good iwb to try to carry my p2000. I have a sub compact baby eagle also, but being all metal, it's heavy.

    I carry an HK P7M8.

What is it you feel is uncomfortable about carrying the G33? How are you trying to conceal it? Typically, when people tell me the gun is uncomfortable to carry what they really mean is the holster is uncomfortable. I find any gun in a very high quality IWB leather holster along with a high quality leather GUN BELT (not just any regular belt) and the right sized pants is very comfortable. I bet you just need a better holster and a good belt.

Agreed...I got a new belt from Nick and it has made a huge difference. If you want an excellently crafted quality belt..PM kcinnick...it will make carrying that 33 feel like it isnt there.

5-9" 175LBS.......I rotate between a G27, a Kahr PM.40, and a Para Ordnance Lite Hawg .45......And when at work, I always carry my Taurus TCP in the boot, cuz a few ppl i think may have spotted my IWB holster, and we are not supposed to carry at work, so the Boot is the ONLY option :-/

I would suggest you look into the Khar PM.40. Its very slim, and about the size as the P9F, which i had once. The recoil was pretty severe on that little gun, nothing you cant manage, but it just did not fit my hand right, so I got off of it and picked up the Kahr which i Love.

I carry the PM in the little 15 dollar IWB/OWB holster I got at the gun show...there is hardly anything to this little thing, its just a little leather pocket thing with a clip on it, but its Very comfortable, and has great retention and hides well.

He's right. My EDC gun is a Kahr CW40, but at 5'11" and 190 lbs, I can conceal a full- sized CZ75 and 2 mags under an untucked shirt without undue discomfort. Get good leather. It makes a world of difference.

    +1

AroundLSU and I are close to the same size (i.e. skinny :D). A good gun belt and a good holster are essential.

I carry a G19 OWB, in a Comp-Tac kydex holster, 24/7 (except in places where CCW is prohibited). A good holster, a good gun belt (check out "The Beltman"), and a dark or patterned shirt that doesn't cling too tightly, are the only accommodations I have to make.

I think body shape makes a big difference in determining whether you can conceal with an OWB vs. IWB holster. Personally I find the OWB to be more comfortable and quicker to access. But some people just have trouble with OWB printing through their cover garment. Of course, with enough practice (like AroundLSU), you can become fast with an IWB holster.

Most people shoot a "full size" gun a LOT better ("better" being defined as able to deliver accurate, rapid follow-up shots) than they shoot a mouse gun. And the "full size" guns holds a lot more BB's than the pocket-sized guns (I think it was Tom Givens who said he has never met anyone who wished he'd had less ammo, or a smaller gun, during a gunfight).

I come in larger at 250 and 6', but I rotate between a Kimber super carry pro in a OWB and IWB, a Springfield Sub-Compact 9 in OWB and IWB and a Sig P238 in pocket or OWB. Clothing helps alot to disrupt print, I generally wear a slightly larger pant than necessary, and wear XXL T-shirts with a button up as second shirt (buttoned up or not). For comfort, I have to agree with the posts before me, get some good leather.
