Abita Amber. Out of the tap, in a chilled glass, it's like candy in liquid form.

Normal go-to beer = Abita Amber

When I decide to treat myself to something different: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

    Aaron

99.99% of the beer I drink is Abita. If I'm drinking something else, it's because I'm at a party and forgot to bring Abita.

Abita ftw! Abita Amber and Golden are awesome. I like a Dos Equis with a little lime and salt with Mexican food, and Abita also rules the Root Beer world! Go to the brewery and get some of that awesome root beer on tap!

I've turned so many people on to Abita that I should get royalties! :D

    +10

    Abita Amber all the way...

    1. abita amber or andygator is my go to.

    2. bud light when im out cause its cheaper and eveyplace sells it.

i will usually try any kind of beer. chimes in BR and lagers in NOLA are great places to try new brews

-1 for Bud Light... +1 for Abita Amber/andygator ... you break even. :D

Well, I've had so many "favorites" over the years I just can't remember them all.
Nowadays, my "go-to" beer is Michelob Ultra.
But I also like the occasional Shiner and Corona.

Hell- what do you have? I'll take whatever's cold.

    hahaha

if every bar/resturant in houma actually kept abita amber in stock then i would not have to sink to budlight.

i managed a resturant for roughly a year and was only allowed to order 2 cases of abita amber a week. we would normally sell out the first day

Only place I have come across it is La Petite Grocery. 8 bucks a bottle

They describe it well: http://thebeerinme.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?6031.0#post_6046 and it might save you some time/money if it isn't your style.....

    David,

Remember that you're a Med Student (or, "Stud Doc"). You need to drink the best, KeyStone light, like me.

Save yo money; you gonna be a socialist doctor, looks like.

The guy who introduced me to KeyStone light was a multi-millionaire who owned four beer distributorships and that was what he always drank.

With a meal, Creveza Bohemia or Grolsch.

I like many different types. Don't care much for light beers like Bud/Miller/Coors. I will not turn it down if offered but will not buy it for myself.

I like German styles such as Marzen, Dunkleweizen, Dopplebock, & Pilsner. Paulaner & Spaten are two of my favorites for German styles. Czech Pilsner like Pilsner Urquell. I brew my own beer and stick mostly to traditional styles. I generally make some type of wheat ale in the spring. Often an American style honey wheat. This past spring I made a German style dark wheat but also added honey which is not typical for the style but not something unheard of either. I have a stout on tap right now and an American style light. I made the light for my father who is getting up in age and doesn't brew his own anymore. I think I'm going to make an Octoberfest for fall - I need to get moving or it will be winter.

I will often order something different to try it out but don't care for flavored beers like Woodchuck or some Mexican beer that had a hint of tequila. The wheat beers with a hint of citrus aren't too bad but not really my style.

I believe that is called a black and tan.

Guinness and Bass is typically a Black & Tan. I think Guinness and Harp is a Black & Brown. Black & Tan is one of my favorites... something about the Irish/British fusion...

Chimes has a mix called The Irish Split, it is Guinness and Smithwicks.

Any of you ever been to the German Oktoberfest- the real one?

    I'll go before I die.

Well, come to think of it- every weekend I spend at my camp is a lot like Oktoberfest....:o
