Any of you ever been to the German Oktoberfest- the real one?

I'll go before I die.

Well, come to think of it- every weekend I spend at my camp is a lot like Oktoberfest....

I havent been yet but my Dad went last year and kept sending me messages and pictures.... one word... JEALOUS

This is the best place in new orleans to purchase beer. Largest selection I have ever seen--from all over the world. Literally 100's to choose from.

We used to make a local Black and Tan back in the day using Dixie Blackened Voodoo and Abita Amber.

Oh yeah, Abita Wheat is awesome too! (try it with a little bit... just a little bit.. of orange squeezed in it)

National Bohemian. Brewed and bottled in Baltimore, MD. Unfortunately, production ceased years ago. To the locals of Balmer, it was like a death in the family.

My mouth is watering....What do you have on tap? I homebrew as well, and have a similar setup (just 2 kegs) in an old upright fridge. All grain or extract?

Usually a Stout, Brown Ale, Pilsner, Amber / Octoberfest and a Pale Ale.

Anyone ever had boddingtons. Its a close second to my favorite. It has the same nitorgen ball that guiness has.

My # 1. I did drink the crap out of some smithwicks when I was in Ireland.

They won't ship it here. My dad called them to see about getting a distributorship and they said shipping it too far would be bad for the taste. I don't know, but their black and tan is great.

For me, I never even consumed alcohol until sometime after I was 23 and then it was only frozen drinks and mixed drinks. I'm 30 now and I've tried a number of beers, import and domestic. The only beer that I can drink, enjoy and not have that bitter beer face when drinking is Abita Amber. I haven't tried all of Abita's beers but I can tell you I dislike Purple Haze and their Strawberry Festival.

I guess I'm just weird that way.
