what scanner to buy?

If you were paying attention, I stated my units model in my first post.
The Uniden website has decent descriptions of these units and there are multiple scanner discussion forums.

Sorry I guess I wasn't paying attention. I see you are talking about the home patrol types. They people that I know that have had HP don't like them and got rid of them.
The friends that have scanners are long time people like me that have been doing it since the mid 70's. We like to program what we want to hear and some of it is not listed on Radio Reference. We usually know the talkgroups and freqs long before they hit RR.
