I think this last school tragedy has ignited a flame that has transformed into a movement and is escalating. It could fizzle out and then back to business as usual, but I think this has started a groundswell and could take off.
With this in mind, I think we need to show the world our true numbers and be counted as 2nd Amendment Supporters. Join the Gun Lobby group of your choice be in NRA or not if you haven't already done so and also sign up the wife/S.O., kids, aunts , uncles, cousins, you catch my drift. I myself am going to try and sign up as many members as I can and already do so for the S.O. and son with the NRA.
You don't have to like them, you don't have to keep a membership forever and ever, just do it !!!

    I think it's $25/head.
Maybe I'm Chicken Little, I dunno.

I'm sure there are others. I just suggested NRA since they are in public spotlight more and are showing 5 million members which should be 10-20 million or more.

    $30/membership at NRA https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp?campaignid=XR030121

Whether you like it or not, the NRA is the only relevant voice we have. If somehow the NRA vanished tomorrow, we would be sunk. All of the other second amendment advocates combined don't equal the clout of the NRA. When was the last time you heard the MSM attack any of the others?

The 2nd Amendment Foundation (www.saf.org) cherry picks court cases which support our rights and then hires the best 2A attorneys in the country to push them, all the way to the Supreme Court. 80% of the 2A cases reinforcing your rights on the books over the last 10 years have been SAF cases (Heller, Peruta, Wrenn v. DC, etc.)

You appear to be right about public reaction. And you've got a good idea about signing up others. Sooner or later we're going to need more support and a "Unified Front" would be a good thing for us.

Count me in. Already Life NRA & GOA membership and just tabbed over and signed on with SFA for Life.

    Thanks for posting this thread.

    Edit:

    And now I signed up with N A G R.
