I'm new to the AR10 game. Ended up with 2 this week. What a reliable mag? What's everyone using? Im fine with 10 round recommendations.

I only use stainless or aluminum teflon coated mags. I would never trust a piece of plastic with my life.
The Marines, Special Forces, Air Force, and Army testing disagree.

I ended up ordering 10 round black p mags. 5 for 50 shipped
Yeah man, PMAG for the win, just make sure you know which style you need. LR/SR (SR25/M110 compatible) is what you’re looking for
PMAG does make more than one style of .308 mag. Even Academy sells more than one.I dont know what all dem letters and numbers mean. My mags say 308.. lol. But yes. The pmags were the ticket. Lucked out on getting them for 10 each. Most online vendors were 16 and up for the 10 rounders.
All that testing was done with 556 mags. This is about the AR10 mags. Totally different subject.
Don’t sweat it Strick, it’s his life that’s hanging in the balance man. Can’t argue with that!i stand corrected. But realistically how much different can a Gen3 5.56 vs Gen3 .308 be in terms of function and reliability? I’m not brushing off your comment, really asking hoping I learn something. I’m not an expert by any means.
I am not sure if it will translate, but the "trust my life" comment could be taken as "best quality I can afford"....
.
Oh how I wish that was the case J, but I’m pretty convinced it’s a tell tale sign of mentality.
Yeah, you are probably right. I can see a metal mag possibly lasting longer than a plastic mag if loaded for a long period. Magpuls with dust covers might be just as good? I have not seen testing on that but I am sure it exists.
