If I had the money to spend on one right now I would go Daniel Defense. If it is a little out your range then maybe build it using DD parts where it counts and use other cheaper but quality parts for the "generic" stuff.
    DD barrel, upper and lower.
Maybe a RRA LPK or something cheaper buffer kit etc

DD doesn't sell lowers, only with their complete rifles.

$1500 is a great budget for an AR and opens up a lot of options. Colt, Daniel Defense and BCM are my recommendations. Honestly though, the AR market is crashing and if I was in the market right now I'd keep an eye out for a quality used one at a great price. For example there was a like new Daniel Defense DDM4V7LW on m4carbine.net today for $1250 shipped.

Well shucks learned something new today. Thanks for clearing it up. I'm no expert for sure. My next one will be DD or BCM hopefully.

FYI, if anyone wants to put hands on JP's I have received my first round of rifles. I've got a VTAC, a Gladiator, and 2 LRP-07's (308 & 6.5 cm) for your viewing pleasure.

DD's are awesome mass produced rifles. True manufacturer. I see BCM getting a much larger market share with the guys they have shooting their stuff now.

A Colt 6920 can be purchased at Walmart for a little over $1K.

That's what I would buy if I had to go get an AR.

I agree. Anyone that knows anything about AR's knows Colt LE6920 is widely known for top quality. That's why I bought mine at WM about 2 weeks ago ($1167 w/Magpul accessories) and love it!
