My Baton Rouge shopping circuit consists of:

Apple
Sephora
Williams and Sonoma
Dillards
(All at the Louisiana Mall)

Coldwater Creek
Black and White
whatever else looks good in the window
Whole Foods
(whatever section that's called, we eat in that area too)

Barnes Noble (not the one on Perkins Rowe, the other one next to Izzos, on Corporate I think?)

Fresh Market (I think this is in Perkins Rowe, correct?)

Best meat and fish market I've found, hands down. Whole Foods we stock on the pantry items but Fresh Market covers produce, meat and dairy/cheeses. Only place I've found that has devonshire cream.

I usually go to the one in Lafayette the most, but if I need anything cosmetics or computer related, it's time for the Apple Sephora run.

Whole Foods certainly has a better selection but most days it's more crowded than Wally World with a hurricane approaching so I prefer Fresh Market.

As cities grow, they change. As natural disasters such as the last few hurricanes of the 2000s, cities change.
Lafayette seems to have become more violent, if you will, since those storms. Some of the trash moved here, but I do not worry about being killed or raped or robbed. Same with Baron Rouge and the Crescent City; elevate your awareness and trust God. Seems to be about all you can do, beside the obvious.

I spent some time teaching in public school in Baton Rouge and I can tell you the majority of high schoolers do not know what or where Pakistan is. (Hell, many of them had no idea what or where Washington DC was).
