Who hunts Tensas area?

So, In an effort to get into the woods sooner for deer, and to open up more time in the properties in Il, I have taken up bow hunting again.. I gave it up right before Falconry took over my life, and for the most part I will still fly the hawk during most days I can, but sometimes he is moody, or just plain too fat to fly, and I want to try to get a bow kill. I have seen some big deer from places around the tensas area.. I know most of the hunting I guess is by lottery ?? IS that accurate? Are there any clubs in the area that are affordable?

Tensas Wildlife Refuge is lotto only for rifle. You can bow hunt publicly and primitive hunt when season permits.

Yeah you can bow hunt tensas. I prefer big lake WMA. They border each other and I feel that big lake is like the little step brother. Same deer as tensas just not as much pressure.
