For less money, you can grab a Weber Summit series from Lowes for ~2k. Full stainless box, burners, a decent warranty, etc. I think the summit s670 will be my next grill unless I build an outdoor kitchen. If that happens I'll find something more permanent.
Thanks for the reply..I need something pretty heavy because I use wood most of the time instead of charcoal. If the metal is too thin it warps and gets distorted.
I am not sure this is what you are looking for but have you looked into the Kamodo style grills like the Big Green Egg or the like? I use hardwood lump charcoal in mine and it runs great. It is a different style of cooking but it is nice once you get used to it.
Will check out Hutch's as its close. As far as Kamado and Green eggs go its not what I'm looking for. I know they are great at what they do and are different-my little brother has one and told me the same thing..a different way of doing stuff. I'm looking at old school type grills for searing when I want to.
You can sear on them you just have to cook the meat first and sear second. I think they call it the reverse sear method. I love mine for smoking though which is mainly what I use it for over everything else.
Boathouse Smokers. Local guy has a shop on Hwy 42 by the Amite diversion canal.
Personal friend of mine. I have one he built for me and it should last a lifetime
