I got the email today about him out of custody of LPSO. I call the DOC number and the recording said he was in Angola serving a life sentence.

To get an email about the change is a person's custodial status, someone has to register, search for the offender, and request notification. So it would seem you got an email because you proactively searched him out and asked to be notified.

Well, yes, that's the obvious reason. I was just curious because it didn't indicate he had actually gone to another prison, like he was paroled or let out due to some clerical error.

Ya'll are assuming that just because he's the new guy that he's automatically going to be somebody's bitch . Maybe he subscribes to the theory that if I slap the **** out of the biggest guy in here that'll earn me some respect . He's a former Marine and a decent size fellow . They might just leave him alone . Just a thought .

no such thing as a "former" Marine. Once you get the title, you die with it. I don't see that meaning to much in a prison though.
