I bought 22lr whenever it was available back around 2011,when I bought my 22 firearms.I can"t find any now at a descent price, but my stash is more than a little.I shoot around 200 to 300 rounds when at the range, and still have more than 3,000.I am not a hoarder,I expected to go to the range more than I did.I hope it becomes available soon,I'm an old guy,and time is of the essence,if you know what I mean.

    Just my $.02 --
9mm is now plentiful, I've seen pricing for the Sellier & Bellot for $260 for 1,000 rounds, and .223 for around $0.32/round for the brass cartridges. So, if all other ammo prices are coming back down to "Before Panic" pricing why buy 22LR? Exactly -- My guess is that in the next 6-8 months if nothing really stupid happens, more people will just say the hell with 22LR because they can get other calibers at good prices. Demand will drop and availability will go back to normal. Give it a little more time but the stars are going to realign soon! Ambassador - If you have 3,000 rounds you will weather this storm -- hang in there man!

Speaking with the clerk at Academy, he stated they are staggering the times of putting out the .22 to help stop the neckbeard vultures. Other gun forums have mentioned this practice at Walmart as well. Maybe the reason we are hearing more replies of .22 on the shelves at normal times.

I did not get to post, but I did share on Facebook that Academy in Slidell had .22lr in stock on Friday. Federal, a cheaper brand, and Aquila I think. 50 round boxes for ~$3.00 for the federal, and less for the others.

I was just in Academy in Slidell today and they were out of Federal, but had Aguila at $6/box, up at the customer service register. Two box limit. Too expensive to be excited about, but at least supply is starting to keep up with the run on the stuff.

There was a huge amount of .22lr at Academy on Seigen in Baton Rouge Wednesday morning.
I was in there again last night and there wasn't a HUGE amount anymore but there was still some bricks and lots of 100rd and 50rd boxes left.

    I got a 1000rd brick for $50 so $.05/rd.
The 100 and 50 rd boxes varied depending on quality but prices were mostly under $.08-$.10 per rnd.
Some will curse $.10/rd .22lr at retail level but I'm guessing $.02-$.04 rd days are long gone.

Didn't know how much 22lr I had left, so I opened my safe and started to open my ammo cans looking for it.

That's how much I found. Decided to bring it inside for climate control..
