Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 .357 Magnum Revolver. 6 inch barrel. Fires both .357 magnum and .38 Special cartridges. Minor finish spots on right side of frame; but in very nice condition. $425 firm or trade. Not looking for anything specific in trade. Face to face only in the Lafayette area please

Does it have any markings other than "Highway Patrolman"? And, is it pinned, and/or recessed (can't tell from the pics)?

1980, maybe late 79. Yes, it should be pinned and recessed.

Kevin and other, This one is NOT pinned or have the recessed cylinder. But it is in very good shape. According to the Blue Book, S&W stopped production of the Model 28 in 1986.

Interesting. The serial number calls for 1980 and a 28-2 which should be P&R. P&R was supposed to end in 83 with the 28-3. Fact is, this is not uncommon with Smith. Engineering changes did not always happen as planned or recorded. Still a nice one though.
