Head to a scrap yard, they generally will sell some! Just make sure you tell them you are working in an area that is well ventilated with fans.

Whatever you do DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use lead from car batteries. Those are now alloyed with cadmium. Very toxic fumes when melting.

If you want I have about a Ton of Doe run Pure Lead it is in 75 lbs pigs in 3 sections of 25 lbs each Pm if interested I work for the railroad and travel so it would be at least 2 weeks before i get home but I will be traveling from Dallas Thur Louisiana

In Lafayette, you can buy 5 pound ingots from Guidry Hardware on Jefferson Street
