I got mine for 900 from cabela's a while back. It was an IBM from 1943 in good to very good condition and it came with a repro paratrooper stock and a polymer folding stock.

I shot a M2 carbine at ROTC camp the summer of 1960. I believe it is the same as the M1 except it has selected fire and a bayonet stud. It wasn't highly thought of. My gunnery instructor told us he hit a ChiCom three times with one coming up the hill at him and the guy didn't go down until his sgt hit him with a .30 from his M1 Garand. OTOH, a friend that was SF/SOG in 'Nam liked them as they were short and encounters were usually at a short range.

What is the attraction of these carbines? I'm curious and not trying to start a pissing contest.

I want to collect all riles from ww2 and ive always like the m1.

Sounds like a good reason to me! :D

I liked shooting the M1 Garand. We qualified with them at ROTC camp. Shooting the M2 carbine was more familiarization firing like we did with the bazooka and 106RR, etc.

There were three in the cabela's collection at the Gonzales store this weekend. Three different condition levels. I think they started at 800-90 and one that was around $1400-ouch... They also had a garand.
