    There are two differences for the ACOG. One is for an M16, the other for an M4. The difference is the BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator). Obviously your going to get more range out of an M16 than you would out of an M4. Also the ACOG have some what of a Range Finder built into them. As you notice the BDC will have a number and a small horizontal line next to them. The number (x100) represent about where your round will impact when shooting at that specific distance. The horizontal line is the average width of a human's shoulders at that specific distance. It helps when you see a human target but find it hard to guess at what distance to set your sights at.

    Thanks for the info. I am looking to put one on my LMT but it has a 16" barrel. I still have a lot to learn about them.
