I bought this winchester 1400 MkII at cabelas in pretty bad shape. When you shot it you could hear the action slowly cycle. I took it apart and boy was it DIRTY. I cleaned her up, stripped and refinished the wood, and sprayed the metal in Brownells alumahyde II semigloss black.
Now the finish work is not perfect as the origional finish wrinkled a little under the alumahyde from the degreeser but this is hard to see in the pictures. From the reviews I read, the alumahyde two is supposed to be pretty durrable. I was impressed with the way the wood turned out as this was my first attempt.
It is in great working condition now after the cleaning and has a 28 inch fixed choke (full) barrel. It is chambered for 2-3/4" shells. The 1400 is always described as one of the lightest shooting 12 gauge autos but I only shot a couple rounds to check the functioning of it so i can't attest to this.
Looking to trade for a .22 revolver, pump shotgun for duck hunting, or am open to any trade ideas.
