Ok guys, dig out some of those old Military photos and post them up.

Here I am (on the right) back in Sept of 1983 on Guard Duty at Camp Hansen, Okinawa.

This one was taken at 29 Palms, CA. (Mojave Desert) in 1984. Yes that is an M16A1 I am holding and a LAW rocket on my back.

I'm on the left. We went only with sidearms that day. I felt like I had 10000 tiny eyeballs trained on me the whole time...

    A long time ago. 1986-ish

I spent 6 years on the USS West Virginia SSBN-736. I am a plankowner and made 5 deterent patrols

Then I worked in Nuclear Repair as a planner and work supervisor on two submarine tenders, the USS Dixon AS-37 and USS McKee AS-41. We performed major maintenance on the various nuclear systems for the boats in our squadron. My niche was nuclear valve repairs and replacements and radioactive liquid waste transfers.

Yup, I remember those days too. Hill Billy Armor. What's funny is I remember the contractors who were cutting the metal were telling my Soldiers that it can stop 7.62. LOL

I love this one the best so far of all the ones posted.

There is something amazingly iconic about a black/white candid shot of a soldier with a cigarette in his hand. You won't see that now and with good reason. But these are the historical photos I grew up looking at. The solid green fabric instead of the 1990s camo BDUs.
