Turned in application and did finger prints in Baton Rouge on march 17th. Paid there that day, checked mail today to find my permit in the box. Permit was approved 4-1-15. Not a bad wait considering they told me 90 days

Turned in app & did fingerprints at the SP headquarters in BR on April 10. Permit issue date April 24. Received in the mail on April 30.

My wife did hers the same day and we're still waiting on it. Hopefully this week. I teased her and said she must be a shadier character than me. LOL

A friend of mine turned his renewal paperwork in almost 5 weeks ago and hasn't received anything yet. The short wait times have everybody anxious lol.

Another friend of mine said his took 9 months :eek3:

It took about another two weeks for my wife's to come in. It was approved on May 15 and she received it the following week.

    How about this one?

    Took class 5/30/15
    Online App 5/31/15
    Fingerprints in BR 6/1/15
    Approval 6/3/15
    Received permit in Mail 6/8/15

It came so quick I didn't even get a chance to do what I was going to do while waiting. I had planned on exercising a bit to drop a couple of pounds and order another holster to give me a couple of options for carrying. I am shocked and relieved all at the same time. Probably a good thing because I am not a very patient person.

How are you checking the approval date?

I mailed everything off on May 1st and it was received on the 9th. I'm still waiting.

If I subtract snail mail days, my new card came back in 27 days.

Taking the CCW class soon. Any tips for me?

I plan to turn in everything in BR. What all should I bring besides license, finger print, and proof of CCW class certification?

Don't forget to have the affidavits notarized.

my range charges a $25 fee for this service. Can you do this on your own if you turn in paper work in BR?

Yes, you can drive to the local notary and have them notarize the forms. It typically runs between $5-7 per page, so $25 from the range isn't bad, plus it saves you an extra trip.
