I bought a new bike on June 26th. First time back on a MTB (or any bicycle) in at least 3 years. I can't run with my herniated disc but I set this goal the day I bought it and I hit it today! Next goal is gonna be to keep up the pace and get 10mi in 1hr.

It was super hot this afternoon

That is a good looking bike sir! Now you have NO excuse to not come ride the Comite trails with me!

    What'd ya do?

And I opted to run on the treadmill last night. I mixed it up though. I ran two miles in a little more than 17 minutes, but I shadowboxed the entire time. Turns out the setup of our treadmill makes a good reflection of me on a door in front of me that I can box against. It was a lot of fun!

Alright Austin. Me and a friend or two are gonna go ride hooper trails soon!! You up to come with us?

I'm really enjoying it. I'm down from 263 to 241 in a month. I still eat what I want just not as much... I've been at a steady wait for at least 2 years now so I decided to change some stuff.
Don't drink as much dr.pepper but I do drink them still and I still eat wherever I want. I'm getting the best of it all right now haha

Wanna get back to where I was in high school. May be tough though. I can't lift weights right now with my back. Doctors orders

Uhm. F&*K yes. Just a few things to point out. Unless you are good at mountain biking, you do not want to start off with the Hooper Trails. At all. The Comite Trails are the ones to start with. Hooper is not nearly as maintained as Comite and has quite a few more "oh ****" moments spread throughout it. I will drop you a PM right now to coordinate details :)

Oh and if your back is hurt, you might not want to try either. If you can't handle jumping up and down or hard bounces, you might want to wait awhile. Both have some nice little drops and all, but the roots are going to make you bounce a lot - even with that full suspension bike of yours.

It'll be alright. I went white water rafting haha. And horse back riding when I wasn't suppose too. I still try to live my life lol. Not just sit around and mope. My riding buddy rode the hooper trails last week and wants to ride them again but with me so we will see haha. He got lost the first trip so I trust him now... Lmao I haven't been on a bike in 6-7 years at least. My experience with mountain biking is none haha. I use to ride a road bike a good bit though. I wanted to compete in the MS 150 at one time

    What'd ya do?

banged it pretty good moving furniture at the house, then later that night I arrested someone that decided he wanted a go at the shiny metallic object in my thigh holster. when he leaned over to grab, my knee collided with his nasal area a couple of times. same knee of course.

I'm going to let it rest up before I throw any runs or leg days at it. It felt a little "shifty" for ~24hours or so, like it was bruised pretty bad. Felt fine today. I'll resume runs friday a.m. and see how it feels.

and uh, you guys got me --> <---- that close to buying another bike. I haven't done that in years though I wouldn't last ten minutes lol

Well then let's do it. Comite is literally three miles from Hooper and they are actually connected through the "connection" trail. I am game to do either trail...except the "goat" trail at Hooper. I walk that one every time because F**K that. It is death the way I see it. Hooper has some pretty kickass drops though towards the middle. Just make sure you have a helmet and means to carry water. I PM'd ya btw. If y'all wanted to go Saturday or Sunday I can be free!! :)

Well. Buy a bike and come see how long you can last. I can guarantee that you can last at LEAST the first two minutes of the trail if you try to keep up with me. I can also guarantee that I can have you gassed within five minutes too. Going uphill and through sand is a killer cardio workout! Besides - who are you to turn down a challenge?

Just wait till you get addicted. When I was riding regularly I'd do 30-40 miles at a time.

    Loved it.

My poor bike hasn't been ridden in so long, the tires are flat.

Go get one. Mine was $152 before tax and it is sweet. I like it a lot. The gear changing is awesome compared to the standard roll throttle type.

    Trail riding?!? Gahh!! Lol

I use to do on average 100 miles a weeks on my road bike my senior year of high school. The most I ever did in a week was 153 miles.
The single longest trip was around 76 miles and it killed me!! It was nice elevation changes lol

There are a few nice break points that ya can stop at. Bug spray is a necessity if you stop though! And yeah, disk brakes are where it is at. Once you do disk, you don't ever go back.

It's a mountain bike I rode on the road. Well, the levee.

When they had River Road closed for repairs from Brightside to Ben Hurr, it was awesome. Just take over the road and go. I'd go down past the casino, etc. too. One day I did there, back, there, back, to Ben Hurr in the middle of the afternoon in the summer. It was amazing. Had that tanline till the next spring.

I prefer to just coat myself in mud and become one with nature. You will to when we go! Haha
