I particularly enjoy the racist hate filled fried white meat sandwiches when they are prepared by female hands, because they belong in the kitchen.

I don't recall the last time I've been to a McDonald's. It has to have been two years ago, at least. Honestly, I don't recall the last time I've ordered a burger from a fast food joint.

Seems to me, that going to McDonald's was the problem.

For those who will read the article, here's a little different slant on the whole minimum wage movement...

One sentence really stands out for me: "If their work is really worth more than what their employer is paying them, all they have to do is quit and go work for some other employer, who will pay them what their work is really worth."

Employers don't pay you what you're worth. They pay you what you will accept, or what they are required to by law. If your work brings me $30/hr in benefit, but you'll let me pay you $20/hr, I ain't paying you $30/hr.

Years ago, my Wife went to a Popeye's, and tells the girl she would like a quarter roasted chicken. To which the girl responded, "I'm sorry, it only comes in one forth or one half" I'm not making this up!!!! Another time at BK the computers were down and it took the cashier, yeah right, cashier, a calculator to figure out she owed me seven cents. and they're allowed to vote!!!!
Last time I asked a Popeye's drive through employee for a 1/2 chicken....that was beyond her comprehension. She could only comprehend chicken sales in "pieces"

3 piece....8 piece family...etc. I'm not even sure she realized what a 1/2 chicken was.

And there's what the market can/will bear. If you have a job where an employee just sweeps the floors, hauls out the trash, etc., you will never be able to pay him/her a manager's salary. It's a transient job; they're not supposed to stay in it forever.

Same goes for delivery drivers, clerical people, etc.

So -- sort of like I quoted above -- you should quit and go find another job where the employer will pay you what you think you're really worth!

And if you only contribute $10 per hour to my bottom line, why should I pay you $20?

I went to Burger King on plank road in baker and the girl gave me a burger bun fully dressed with no patty. I thought I was in the movie "Good Burger" for a moment.

Sure! But if the only qualifications you present consist of being a warm body that converts oxygen into carbon dioxide then you've gotta realize that I'm paying the absolute minimum. Realize also that if the minimum wage is higher than I like, I'll cut jobs and/or replace you with a machine, monkey, or whatever is profitable.

I'd rather have a $30,000.00 kiosk than two minimum wage employees. Maybe thats why overseas you see the kiosks in fast food restaurants... hmmmm

20.00 and hour for 30.00 an hour of production is pretty damn good. The employer needs a profit after overhead.

I hate evil vile disgusting mayonnaise, so I don't go to Cane's. If I have to put something on a piece of prepared chicken to give it flavor, I'd prefer to eat elsewhere.

Can we take this thread to the next level for fun?

Okay, wish granted. Every "career" burger maker now makes 15.00 an hour.

How long before they riot over happy meals costing ten bucks?
