Looking for input on single shot breech loading rifles for primitive weapons season

I'm considering picking up a single shot rifle for deer hunting. Probably don't want to spend the money for the Thompson Center, so I'm looking for input on some of the other options out there like CVA, Henry, etc. I'm also looking for information on caliber choice. I'm considering the .35...

      Opinions on the GSG 1911-22

Anybody have any experience with the GSG 1911-22? I'm considering one and was hoping to get some first hand info from somebody that owned one vs online reviews. If I get one, it will be used for plinking, range time with a 1911 without the expense of the .45 ammo, and general nutria rat killin...

Anybody know any reputable transmission shops in Ascension Parish?

Looks like the wife's Mountaineer has taken a transmission dump. Not sure if it is toast or just some electronic control problem. Anybody know a reputable transmission guy in Ascension parish or south Baton Rouge that won't screw me?

Record flood forecast on Mississipi River

http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/River-crest-may-pass-27.html Def something to watch. The 1927 flood was one of the worst disasters in US history. Hope the levees are all up to snuff. For anybody interested, the book Rising Tide is a good read on the '27 flood and all the politics and aftermath.

      Opinions on chiropractic

Looking for some unbiasad opinions on chiropractic and recomendations on chiropractors. I've been having some lower back and hip pain for about 6 weeks, and I wonder if going to a chiropractor might help. Anybody have any input, good or bad, on the practice in general, and any practitioners in...

Anybody in the BR-Pville-Gonales area do auto glass?

May have to get my windshield changed in my truck to get it inspected. Would just as soon send my business to BS members so I thought I'd ask. $250 deductible. Ugh.

      Opinions on Walther P22

Loader for .223 ammo on stripper clips

Just bought some .223 ammo on stripper clips, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with different loaders for this stuff. The 2 I've seen online are the standard military steel loader and the LULA strip loader. Know anything about these or others?

      1st time Buffer Zone fun

Had President's Day off and flipped a coin on whether to ride my motorcycle or go shooting. Shooting won, so I gathered up some stuff and headed out to the fabled Buffer Zone. It's about 95 miles from door-to-pit for me, so I had never been before. Got there about 10:45ish and there were about 3...

Still don't have access to BS from work

I haven't been able to get on the site from my work computer since the switch to the new server. It works fine from my home puter. Is this just part of the process, or maybe something else?

      WTB: Flat top AR

Yeah, I know. Me and everybody else. But I figured I'd try the "ask and ye shall receive" route. So, if anybody has one of these that you'd like to sell, I'm interested. I don't really want a high dollar rifle, something more in the $800 range. I want a flat top due to the fact that I can't see...

Opinions on a couple of 1911's

I'm thinking of buying a 1911 to replace one that I had stolen about 6 years ago. I'm currently looking at a Springfield mil-spec, and a Taurus PT1911. My impressions from looking at them in the store are as follows. The Springer is solid, durable, and a lot like my old 1911, just a basic gun...
